Banning Philosophy

The intent is to only ban cards that truly make the game toxic. These have to be cards that warp the format around them.

Currently there are no banned heroes.

Banned Cards

• Duskblade
• The format is sort of built on creating powerful play patterns through combinations you couldn't normally use. But this is, at least somewhat, balanced by having a singleton deck. The reduced consistency cuts down on the non-games. Duskblade breaks this by giving you unprecedented consistency across the game for the cost of including one very powerful hero in your duo.

Watchlist

• Kodachi
• While there's not currently plans to remove Kodachi, it is something that is being watched. In combination with Dorinthea it leads to an extremely consistent gameplan of swinging 3 kodachi and throwing out some other card. This requires running Dorinthea alongside a ninja, which is a bigger limitation than we normally watch for. It's a toxic combination, but not necessarily format warping.
